Moses: School Days

Did you know Jesus went to school? But instead of “Teacher”, He called his teacher “Rabbi”. He would have gone to school at the synagogue (or church) instead of a school building. He also would have read from scrolls, instead of books. Every morning and evening, Jesus would say the “SHEMA” from the scroll of Deuteronomy written by a man named Moses.

Of course, Jesus would say it in Hebrew and it is written in English above. The Jewish people (Israelites) were to put the SHEMA on their door frames of their houses and gates. You can write out the SHEMA and put it on your door of your bedroom just like the Jesus did.

Jesus had to learn to read and write just like you. One of the stories from Israel’s history He would have heard was about Moses. Let’s learn about him too.

God had a plan for Moses (and Jesus) and for you too. Moses would grow up to be a very important person in Israel’s history. Israel was the country Jesus lived in. Let’s learn more about Moses.
