Jonathon was a great friend to David. They were best friends. It was hard for them to say goodbye to each other. But David realized he had another friend, and so do you – God. David often talked to God and you can too. He wrote lots of songs to God also. 73 of those songs are in the Bible in the book of Psalms. The most famous song is Psalm 23.
Do you know how to play an instrument? Maybe a piano, flute or guitar, maybe drums? David knew how to play the lyre, a harp like instrument with strings. Here is a way you can make your own harp and make songs to God.
- Gather an empty tissue box, scissors, two pencils, and rubber bands (Silly Bandz work well too!).
- Strap the rubber bands lengthwise around the box and over the hole. If the rubber bands are different widths, even better.

- Then place a pencil under the rubber bands towards each end of the box as the bridge of the guitar (angle one of the pencils to change the pitch of the “strings”).
- Strum or pluck the rubber bands over the hole to make sound.
