4th Grade MEMORY VERSE: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And He saw that it was good. Genesis 1:1 and 31.
God’s called many things in the Bible. And all of these names tell us something about our huge God.
Ask your parents if they know what your name means. Or ask them to look it up for you. You may be surprised!
The Old Testament was written in a language called Hebrew. This is God’s name Yahweh in Hebrew. BUT ancient Hebrew spelled it YHWH. AND they wrote from right to left (backwards). Can you write it?

Now try your name!
- Write your name. Example: Paisley
- Now erase all the vowels. Example: PSLY
- Write the letters backwards. Example: YLSP
- Look at the list to see how to draw them in Hebrew.
- If you have a C in your name that makes the hard C sound (like cat) use K. If you have a J, use Y. That’s what Jesus did. His actual name was Yeshua.
